This has been said by many, including a poet friend of mine from the way back time of the late 1970s. We have known everything written yet again in this column, for as long as humans have thought about life. It is a form of addiction to assume that you personally should live forever because you are that special. It is a form of addiction to say our technology will let certain people live forever. They are so special. And they get to judge that specialness. Interesting.

Humans have always wanted to live forever, well, some of us. We can look back and see the golden apple of the Greeks and the search for El Dorado, and now the belief by many men about the Singularity that will lift them above the stupidity of Nature to the glory of living forever. What drug are these people all on? The drug of being more important than Nature which does bind all humans with conception, life, and death. Isn't death the last frontier most men believe they are on the cusp of breaching? Ah, the dreams of the addicted.
